Established in 1982, we are a successful Joinery Manufacturer, specialising in high quality individual bespoke Joinery Contracts.
Our Premises at Lutterworth in Leicestershire provides approximately 11,000 square feet of capacity with a dedicated spray shop for pre-finishing of manufactured items.
Our Premises at Airfield Park, just outside Husbands Boswoth offers a further 12,000 square feet, producing Bespoke Fine Timber Mouldings and Traditional Joinery with the help of our modern machine shop.
We currently employ 52 Tradesmen, Management and Administration Staff, including 12 directly employed joiners in dedicated installation teams, supported by our fleet of easy identifiable commercial vehicles.
We have completed individual Specialist Joinery Contracts to the value of 1.2 million and have been pleased to be associated with many very exclusive clients. Whilst we do not generally advertise these clients, we can provide personal references if required.
Our company features on the list of Approved Contractors for Specialist Joinery for Leicester City Council.
For Bespoke Individual Doors, up to 60 Minute Rating, we have our own Fire Certification to BS476: Part 22:1987
The combined turnover is in excess of £3 million with anticipation of a steady growth this year.
Many of our Key Personnel have a number of years service with us, which helps to ensure continuity for repeat client business.
In October 2008, we were the proud winners of Best Use of Panel Products at The Wood Awards for our joinery work at the new Taylor Library, Corpus Christi College in Cambridge.
Managing Director Neil formed the business in April 1982. After learning the trade through a traditional apprenticeship scheme, it was always his ambition to have his own company. He was able to rent a small workshop in the village of Welford, overlooking the River Avon in Northamptonshire, and carried out small works for local people. In 1985, the business was moved to Husbands Bosworth and Neil began to employ other tradesman to assist him with the successful company which was emerging. In 1988, Neil was given the breakthrough of being involved in the development of Magna Park, which is a large distribution site just outside of Lutterworth, where the business remained for 10 years. During this time, Neil made many contacts on a national basis. The company started trading throughout the United Kingdom, which was all based on word of mouth for good recomendations within the joinery trade. At this time the company was employing 10-12 people, and in 1998 the company moved into its present location of Elizabethan Way, Lutterworth, which is now the head office.
In 2002, Neil purchased a 50% share of another joinery company, which allowed us to further expand the business in 2007. Neil and Sharon purchased the other 50%, therefore the company now employs some 60+ people including trades persons and management, and now has a production capacity of 22,000 sq ft.
The NBJ brand has become well known within the industry. Neil is very proud of still being involved at base level, and has a personal involvement in all projects. 27 years on from starting the business, his enthusiasm is as great as ever, to achieve client satisfaction at all times.
Project Director at Neil Burke Joinery Limited, Richard joined the company at the beginning of 1998 and was involved in the expansion of the business, along with the move to our modern day premises.
Richards background of project management has helped to ensure that the management control systems within the company are available to monitor all aspects of the manufacturing and installation process.
With over twenty years experience in the Construction Industry, Richard has a detailed knowledge of all aspects of the construction process, helping to integrate our specialist works smoothly and efficiently into even the tightest project constraints.
Sharon is our Company Secretary and manages our Accounts Department.
Sharon's financial expertise ensures that our company's financial affairs are conducted professionally and efficiently at all times.
